Studying history at the University of Sydney offers you a unique opportunity to grapple with questions large and small about human life, and acquire skills with a practical payoff in your career. History equips you to understand change, look at things from different perspectives, and assess diverse kinds of information. This lecture explains how history explores many aspects of life – from sexuality to economics, international relations to culture, the history of ideas to the history of food – and introduces you to the leading historians you will work closely with at the University of Sydney.
